The room wasnice and neat, with a cozy bed and a fan to keep us cool. The location was convenient, just a short walk away from the city center. The staff at the hostel were friendly and helpful, providing us with great recommendations and assisting us with any needs we had.
The food for breakfast could have been better, maybe with a wider variety of options.

The rooms at Hostal El Rio are cozy and comfortable, with bed linen and towels provided. As an adult traveler, I thoroughly enjoyed the well-maintained and inviting ambiance of the room. It made me feel right at home!
Personally, I found the absence of a mini-fridge in the room a bit of a downside. But hey, that might not bother others who prefer exploring the local cuisine!

The staff was fantastic and provided excellent service. the breakfast offered was delicious and a great way to start the day. the location of the hotel was convenient, with easy access to the main part of town.
The lack of air conditioning made the rooms uncomfortably hot, especially during the day. the provided fans were not very effective in cooling down the rooms, making it difficult to sleep at night.

The staff at this hostel were simply incredible - they went above and beyond to help us book amazing tours and find great accommodation. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to assist in any way they could. The air conditioning in my room worked perfectly, and even though the shower wasn't heated, it still provided a refreshing experience. Although some may say it's a little far from the town center, it's actually just a quick 10-minute walk, and there's a fantastic restaurant only 7 minutes away. Being slightly away from the center also meant that it was quieter, which was a bonus. the location felt safe, and the included breakfast was a delightful treat. I loved the fact that they offered free coffee refills, and the hostel's kitchen and fridge were a great addition. The filtered water they provided was a thoughtful touch. During our 4-day stay, this hostel proved to be one of the best we've ever been to. It was super clean, had reliable WIFI, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The price was also very reasonable and well worth it. The daily sheet and towel changes ensured a clean and comfortable stay. The breakfast options were delicious, whether it was a traditional Nica plate or a plate full of fluffy pancakes. The staff were always ready to assist with bus information and taxi calls, and they were genuinely nice and welcoming. The hostel had two well-equipped kitchens, which were very convenient. The location was quite good, just a 10-minute walk from the center. The attached photo is of the cozy "dorms" room we stayed in for one night, but the private room we had for the rest of our stay was even larger and had an amazingly comfortable bed. I would rate our experience a perfect 10/10. The staff and owner were exceptionally nice and helped us with everything we needed. We only stayed for one night before heading to Guatemala, and the hostel even had an organized shuttle service, which made our transition smoother. The place had everything you could possibly need for a great stay.
